Tanzania is rightfully known as the 'Land of Safari', where open savannahs meet majestic mountains and pristine beaches wait to be explored. Tanzania's abundance makes it one of the most popular safari destinations in the world, offering something for all interests.

 

Most safaris in Tanzania focus on the northern circuit of the Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. Their popularity is understandable as they are easily accessed from the main gateway of Arusha and offer some of the best wildlife viewing on the continent. In particular, Serengeti National Park is perhaps Africa's most famous landscape and the quintessential image of the African savannah.

 

Those who venture further south are rewarded with some phenomenal National Parks that are relatively unknown and untouched. In the south, you will never be inundated with crowds, and you can genuinely discover untamed wilderness areas. From Ruaha National Park, home to a tenth of all lions in Africa, to Nyerere National Park, Tanzania's largest National Park and twice the size of Belgium. Together they form a fantastic southern circuit that can rival the wildlife viewing anywhere in the world.
