DAY 1 

ARUSHA

On arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport, you will be met and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge. The afternoon is your at leisure to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

 

Arusha Coffee Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Arusha, nestled within one of the Tanzania's largest coffee plantations.  The aromas of fresh morning brew emanating from the main Plantation House is just one of the many sensory experiences available at Arusha Coffee Lodge.

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

This morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Ruaha National Park. A journey of approximately two hours. A guide from Kigelia Ruaha will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to the camp. 

 

Kigelia Ruaha is a small, intimate bush camp with only six guest tents. Oozing charm, the camp offers a truly authentic safari experience, and its simplicity means the focus is on the incredible wilderness right outside your door.  Located in the thriving eastern part of the park Kigelia Ruaha is named after the Kigelia Africana (Sausage Tree) that surrounds the camp.

 

This afternoon head out on your first game drive.

DAY 2 

DAY 3 

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, searching for the area's abundant wildlife. Your stay at Kigelia Ruaha includes a private vehicle and guide, providing you with the utmost flexibility and the ability to tailor your game drives to your specific interests. Game drives at Kigelia Ruaha are conducted in an open-sided vehicle with experienced guides who intimately understand the environment. Head out with tremendous anticipation of incredible wildlife sightings you might find.

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy game drives exploring the vast Ruaha ecosystem. Ruaha National Park is the largest National Park in East Africa, covering a massive  20,200 square kilometres of vast open savannah, rocky outcrops and hills dotted with large baobab trees. Leopard, cheetah and wild dog sightings are common, and the park is stronghold for lions, with prides frequently holding more than 20 members. One of the many aspects that make Ruaha unique is that it is a transition zone between southern Africa and Eastern Africa, and a number of unique species from each zone are found in the park. Ruaha is one of the few places where you can find both the greater and lesser kudu together. Really lucky visitors may even spot rare species such as the bat-eared fox or the striped hyena.

DAY 4 

DAY 5 

NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy your last game drive in Ruaha before a leisurely breakfast and a light aircraft flight to Nyerere National Park. On arrival, enjoy a relaxed lunch before heading out on an afternoon activity.

Sand Rivers Selous exudes adventure, comfort and exclusivity. Eight stone and thatched cottages, all with open-fronted decks, overlook the Rufiji River or three hillside suites enjoy a private plunge pool with an adjoining living room area. The camp's pool is a lovely area to relax during the heat of the day, with views over the Rufiji River or for some wild swimming, your guide can take you to a nearby hidden, hot spring.

NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

Some safaris follow a predictable routine, but not so at Sand River Selous Camp. Over the years, the team has figured out how to take advantage of the diverse ecology and geography that Nyerere National Park provides, and safaris have been designed to be fun and full of exploration.  From boat cruises along the Rufiji River to relaxing on sands bars watching eagles or slowly tracing your way along dry river beds looking for lurking leopards. No two days at Sand River Selous will be the same. 

 

Your stay at Sand River Selous comes with a private guide and vehicle, meaning your safari itinerary will be personalised to you. If you have not spotted a particular animal on your list, the guides will work tirelessly to help you find it.

DAY 6 

DAY 7 

NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

Spend the day exploring the beauty of Nyerere National Park.  The park is centred around the mighty Rufiji River, which in some places measures over a kilometre in width. Remote and secluded tracks found in Nyerere National Park are unlikely to be human and are no doubt those of hippos and elephants whose movements along the river banks have helped shape the landscape over thousands of years.

NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy morning and afternoon game activities. Being Africa's largest National park there is plenty of wilderness to explore and despite having four full days you will feel that you are only just scratching the surface.​

DAY 8 

DAY 9 

ZANZIBAR 

Enjoy your last game drive in Nyerere National Park before taking a light aircraft flight back to Dar Es Salaam to connect with your onward flight to Zanzibar.  On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met transferred to Essque Zalu for four nights of relaxing on the beautiful white sand beaches of Nungwi, Zanzibar.

ZANZIBAR

The island of Zanzibar caters perfectly to all types of travellers. From those that simply want to relax, unwind and do nothing to those that want to get out and learn about the fascinating history and culture of the island that is colloquially known as the 'spice island', Zanzibar has played a crucial role in the development of the entire continent and has a fascinating history built on the trade routes between the Middle East and Africa.

Optional activities include walking tours of Stone Town,  tours of Jozani Forest searching for the endangered red colobus monkeys, snorkelling trips,  sunset dhow cruises and much more.

10 - 12

DAY 13

ZANZIBAR

Soak up your last day in Zanzibar before transferring to Zanzibar Airport for your onward arrangements. If you have not had enough 

time relaxing on the beach, Pemba Island  which is directly north of Zanzibar makes for a perfect add-on to extend yourbeach stay.
