In addition, the park has the largest number of endangered African wild dogs of any protected area on the continent. In total, Hwange provides habitat for over 100 mammal species, including eight carnivores, and around 400 bird species, making it the most diverse of Zimbabwe’s 11 national parks

HWANGE NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a day full of safari activities. Verney's Camp safaris include early morning and late afternoon game drives and night drives. Night-time safaris are particularly unique and offer the chance to look for predators out on the hunt and the rare nocturnal species, including genets, bushbabies, white-tailed mongoose, owls, aardvarks and possibly a leopard prowling in the shadow. The sounds at night are equally fascinating, and it is at night that you will hear Hyena whopping, lions roaring and a cacophony of crickets and frogs calling.
