Remote and removed from the busier riverfront area of Chobe, Savute offers some of Botswana's best predator viewing. The lion prides at Savute are well known for their size and strength and for bringing down elephants in the dry season, while leopards seek refuge in the rocky outcrops dotted between the open fields.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive looking for the areas wildlife.

SAVUTE

Today enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives.

Savute's most prominent attraction is the Savute channel, which, when flowing, empties into the Savute Marsh. The channel is sporadic and will often go decades without any water before, without warning, it suddenly starts flowing again. Even when the surrounding areas are flooding, the Savute can remain bone dry. A mystery that has stumped local inhabitants and geologists for many years.  The grasses of the Savute Marsh draw in herds of grass eaters, which in turn attract predators making it a dynamic and exciting game-viewing destination.
