DAY 1

NAIROBI

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Nairobi Serena Hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is yours at leisure. 

A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the Nairobi Serena enjoys a location on the edge of Central Park and the City Centre. Shaded by the glorious Jacaranda, Bougainvillea and Acacia trees and surrounded by lush, manicured gardens, the hotel provides a peaceful and luxurious retreat to travellers.

MASAI MARA

After breakfast, depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara. Your journey will take you towards Kenya's highlands and the rim of the rift valley. Descend into the valley and cross the fertile wheat plains to the town of Narok. Continue South towards the Masai Mara, arriving for lunch.  After lunch, set off on your first game drive looking for the area's abundant wildlife, and return to the Mara Serena Lodge as the sun sets.

Mara Serena Lodge seemingly floats on a sea of savannah. A beautiful pool looks out over the wide plains stretching out before it. The rooms are Masai-influenced in style and extremely comfortable.

DAY 2

DAY 3

MASAI MARA

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. The Masai Mara is one of the world's most abundant wildlife hotspots and a particular stronghold for predators, including lions, leopards, hyenas and cheetahs.  The reserve is a photographer's paradise, and the open savannahs provide an excellent backdrop to capture your own iconic African image.  Cap off your morning game viewing experience in the Mara with a “Bush Breakfast” by the Mara River Hippo Pools!

During the middle of the day, relax at the lodge and sit by the pool or perhaps lunchtime siesta.  In the afternoon head out on a afternoon game drive

LAKE ELEMENTAITA

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley dominate the landscape. Lunch will be a picnic stop en route to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in the afternoon and head out on a game drive. Known for its birdlife, the park, with the right climatic conditions, offers the possibility to view thousands of flamingoes feeding in the shallow alkaline lake.

 

While not a large national park, Lake Nakuru is incredibly scenic and has several unique wildlife sightings that make it a worthwhile visit, including good chances of finding black and white rhinos and the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy an early morning guided bird walk around Lake Elementaita. Following an early breakfast, proceed to Nairobi for lunch and then continue south towards Amboseli, arriving at the lodge by late afternoon.

 

Settle into your room and the lodge, lying in the shadow of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli National Park is known for two things, incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro and impressive herds of elephants, some of which sport the largest bodies and tusks in Africa. The elephants of Amboseli are so ubiquitous that the park is often referred to as the 'Land Of Giants'.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National Park today.


Amboseli is Kenya’s second most popular national park and was declared a UNESCO-Mab Biosphere Reserve in 1991. During heavy rains, the basin at the centre of the park floods, attracting hordes of wildlife. The reserve is an excellent place to view the Big Five, as well as lesser-known and rarer wildlife species.

DAY 7

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, continue south towards the Tanzania border and then on to Arusha for lunch. After lunch, you will depart Arusha and pass through the Maasai Steppe, filled with picturesque African villages and coffee and banana plantations.  Arrive at Tarangire National Park, enter the park, and begin exploring with a game drive as you slowly make your way to the lodge arriving for dinner.

Tarangire is most famous for its giant baobabs, a network of swamps, and large herds of elephants rumoured to be the largest population in Tanzania. It is less known for a yearly secret migration where masses of wildlife are drawn to the Tarangire River during the dry season as it remains the last viable water source for miles.

LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

This morning you will head out on a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park looking for its large lion prides and elephant herds. Drive through the baobab tree-lined trails and explore the silale swamp. Return to the lodge for lunch before leaving Tarangire behind and journeying towards a scenic escarpment adjacent to Lake Manyara.  Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge offers a unique blend of tranquillity and wildlife discovery and is perched on the edge of the rift valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara.

DAY 8

DAY 9

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, head out on a morning game drive and explore the charming Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara has several fascinating features that make it an exciting place to spot wildlife, here lions are famous for climbing and hanging out in trees, between November and April, flamingoes converge on the lake in their thousands, and large troops of baboons always make for an entertaining wildlife viewing. Return to the lodge for lunch before continuing your journey North West across the highlands into the Ngorongoro conservation area and onto the vast plains of the Serengeti.

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives looking for the area's abundant wildlife.  The Serengeti is home to approximately two million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards and 500 cheetahs. The wide-open savannah is one of Africa's most iconic landscapes and is sure to be a highlight of your time on this incredible continent.

NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast, depart the Serengeti heading east towards Ngorongoro. The drive to Ngorongoro Crater is your morning game drive as you traverse the national park and wildlife corridors. Stop for a picnic lunch and view wildlife across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping en route for a picnic lunch. Continue to your lodge, set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, arriving for dinner. The crater rim sits at 2,300 metres, and it is important to have a few warmer layers on hand as the altitude can make it surprising chilly.

Activities:  Game Drive In The Serengeti En-Route To Ngorongoro Crater

NGORONGORO CRATER 

One of life's most memorable experiences awaits you this morning as you spend the day exploring what is commonly referred to as the World’s largest natural wildlife arena. After an early breakfast, drive to the crater gates and descend the sides of the crater wall through the morning mist to arrive on the crater floor. 

 

Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and hosts several distinct environments, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs to open grassland and some sandy dunes. Wildlife is plentiful, with large lion prides, clans of hyenas and the elusive black rhino often seen. A picnic lunch is served near a pond populated with hippos and after an exciting day, return to your Ngorongoro Serena in the late afternoon to watch the sunset over the crater.

DAY 12

DAY 13

NAIROBI

After breakfast, depart Ngorongoro Crater and drive back to Arusha, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before continuing the journey by road to Nairobi and onto a Nairobi City Centre restaurant for dinner. After dinner, transfer to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or Nairobi Serena Hotel for your onwards arrangements.

 

If adding a Zanzibar stay, you will be dropped off at Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
