DAY 1

JOHANNESBURG


Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport, walk straight across to the Intercontinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, a luxurious and convenient retreat after your long-haul flight. Opt to relax with a couples’ massage or unwind with a drink at the Quills Bar before a restful evening. Enjoy a gourmet dinner in the hotel restaurant or order room service and toast the beginning of your African honeymoon from the comfort of your room. Tomorrow, your safari adventure begins. Tonight is all about recovering, recharging, and celebrating the start of a trip you’ll remember forever.

SABI SANDS GAME RESERVE


After breakfast, board your flight to the world-renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve. A short transfer brings you to Elephant Plains Game Lodge, nestled in the heart of Big Five territory. Check into your romantic suite with a private deck and sweeping bushveld views. This afternoon, head out on your first game drive with expert rangers and trackers where you may spot elephants, lions, or even a leopard on the prowl. Return after dark to a fire-lit dinner under the stars. With the night sounds of the bush surrounding you, your safari romance truly begins.

DAY 2

DAY 3

SABI SANDS GAME RESERVE


Wake to birdsong and hot coffee before heading out early morning drive which offers some of the best wildlife sightings. watch giraffes browse in golden light or lions finishing a night time hunt. After a hearty breakfast, spend the midday hours relaxing by the pool or in the comfort of your room.  In the afternoon, set off on another game drive, with the possibility of witnessing unforgettable wildlife moments as the bush comes alive in the golden afternoon light. Return to camp for sundowners and a three-course dinner, sharing stories by lantern light as the stars light up the sky.

LAKE ELEMENTAITA

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley dominate the landscape. Lunch will be a picnic stop en route to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in the afternoon and head out on a game drive. Known for its birdlife, the park, with the right climatic conditions, offers the possibility to view thousands of flamingoes feeding in the shallow alkaline lake.

 

While not a large national park, Lake Nakuru is incredibly scenic and has several unique wildlife sightings that make it a worthwhile visit, including good chances of finding black and white rhinos and the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

DAY 4

DAY 5

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, continue south towards the Tanzania border and then on to Arusha for lunch. After lunch, you will depart Arusha and pass through the Maasai Steppe, filled with picturesque African villages and coffee and banana plantations.  Arrive at Tarangire National Park, enter the park, and begin exploring with a game drive as you slowly make your way to the lodge arriving for dinner.

Tarangire is most famous for its giant baobabs, a network of swamps, and large herds of elephants rumoured to be the largest population in Tanzania. It is less known for a yearly secret migration where masses of wildlife are drawn to the Tarangire River during the dry season as it remains the last viable water source for miles.
