DAY 1 

NAIROBI

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Nairobi Serena Hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is yours at leisure. 

A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the Nairobi Serena enjoys a location on the edge of Central Park and the City Centre. Shaded by the glorious Jacaranda, Bougainvillea and Acacia trees and surrounded by lush, manicured gardens, the hotel provides a peaceful and luxurious retreat to travellers.

LAIKIPIA PLATEAU

After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to Mugie Conservancy. You will be met at the airstrip by a Governor's vehicle, which will transfer you to camp, where a delicious lunch will be waiting.  Depending on what you feel like doing, you can either head out on your first-afternoon game drive and explore this pristine wilderness, abundant with wildlife or lay by the pool or enjoy a siesta. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks around a fire before dinner.

DAY 2

LAIKIPIA PLATEAU 

Enjoy morning and afternoon game activities. 

 

Mugie Conservancy offers a myriad of activities by which to enjoy the natural landscape and abundant wildlife, from traditional game drives to bush walks, bush meals and fishing on the Mugie Dam. The conservancy also operates as a low-impact cattle ranch and catalyst for community conservation initiatives. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the conservation activities, including the anti-poaching unit with the team of bloodhound sniffer dogs. Predator research being carried out has seen lions and cheetahs collared for movement monitoring. Head out with the research team to track down the big cats and understand the work being done to prevent human-wildlife conflict

MASAI MARA

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mugie airstrip to catch a direct flight to the Masai Mara. The drive from the airstrip to camp is your first game drive, and wildlife is often seen en route. Settle into camp and enjoy an al fresco lunch before heading out in the afternoon for a game drive to explore Masai Mara National Reserve. Return to camp before sundown to enjoy pre-dinner drinks around the campfire and a candlelit dinner in the main dining tent.

DAY 5 

DAY
  6 - 8  

MASAI MARA

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. 

 

The Masai Mara is big cat heaven, with very healthy numbers of lions, leopards and a population of around 125 adult cheetahs, making them another relatively common sighting. In addition, to the big cats, the Masai Mara is also an excellent destination for sightings of smaller cats. Governors Camp holds a prime position in the Masai Mara Reserve and is Africa’s first permanent tented camp, remaining in its original site since 1972. Governors hold an incredible legacy and reputation as the pioneers of the modern safari experience.

DEPARTURE
